Level & Combine Faces

Several times recently while working on a part, I've somehow ended up with faces that shouldn't be. In an attempt to get rid of them my natural instict was to try and push/pull the face and get it to snap & combine with the surrounding face. No luck. The problem is that I don't see a way to actually push/pull to a point/edge. So, I'm left just trying to visually align the two faces. It would be great if there was a "point to point" feature for the push/pull the same way there is with the "move" function. What's the best way to get rid of these "orphaned" faces such as the one circled in the attachment?

Thanks!

Ian, two ways to achieve this. The quickest and easiest is usually to select the sides and top of the offending faces and hit delete. Usually takes care of it even on very complex geometry.

If using push/pull use the drop down next to the dimension and select re-anchor. Im not at a computer but im pretty sure its available in push/pull. Select a planar face, edge or vertex and then set the dimension to zero. This just changes where the feature measures from. Once you OK it, if you wdit there will be a physical dimension added. Its not a parametric link to anything selected. Think of it like the measure tool.

I suggest delete becauae its powerful and wont care if you change earlier features in the timeline.

Matt,

Thanks! That was easy. I think I had tried deleting the borders of the face w/o any luck but never the face itself. That cleaned it up very nicely.

Thanks!
