Joint origin to origin constrain.

Hi there, 
Can someone help me out here? I am trying to constrain an object, using rigid constrain. I want to align a Joint origin to a model/ subassembly origin, but I am unable to pick the direction I want. 
I woul like to "drag" it to ZX plane, without rotating it.

You will have to realign the Joint Origin.

The video demo is aligning the Z axis of the Joint Origin with the Z axis of the component Origin.  Normal and expected behavior.

When placing the Joint Origin, you have to align it so that the part aligns as you wish after making the Joint, with that Z axis pointing to where you want it at the time you place it.

Well, that is the obvious one, but not the one I accept.
The file is an external one. it should not matter in what orentation it is in. I should be able to controll the position of insterted part, without modifing it. That is the principal of working with external file...

The current behavior can be quite annoying and we’ve ( some EEs) discussed it with the developers on another „channel“. I believe a change will be implemented at some point in time.
