Joint is lost when importing the component inside another design

I've got a revolute joint working in a design. When I import it into another design it doesn't work.

Screencast below shows the issue clearly I hope.

All other joints, including another revolute work.

Not sure how to go about troubleshooting this one. I played with grounding and rigid joints of the base of the hinge. Same results.

Hi @kareemsultan,

Are you able to post the main assembly?

From looking at the video, my first thought is to check whether that rigid joint is applied to just the component or to that whole subassembly - that would account for the behavior we're seeing. If it is just applied to the intended component, I'll need to take a look at the file to troubleshoot further.

In terms of grounding the components in the subassembly file, the ground doesn't carry over when the subassembly is inserted into the main assembly, so no worries there.

That was it. No idea how I missed that.

So the fix was to change the rigid joint from the higher level brake pedal component to the lower level "base hinge" component. The leaves the rest of the joints within the brake pedal component to work as expected.
