Join four flanges with new extrusion

I'm trying join the four flanges together with a new Join extrusion. Everytime I do I get errors in the flatpattern or unfold operation.

Can't complete Sheet Metal operation due to a model error. Check the body, then try again.

When I Unfold the part and add the Join Extrude I cannot Refold since I get this error
A bend is overconstrained.

I CAN perform the Join Extrude in the Flatpattern but that just doesn't feel like good practice.

Extrude > Join in Sheetmetal worked as expected.  Some other things were not expected - deleted or replaced.

Thanks that was very helpful. Using sketches and extrudes to radius my corners seemed to be my issue. The Fillet tool is much more helpful. Thanks again.

No, my extrude worked before the fillet fix. 

You are working too hard - blue, white and orange sketch articles should keep you awake.
