Issues with Data Panel

I am currently using the free/hobbyist version of Fusion 360. This is a fresh/new install.

I am trying out Fusion 360 in order to work with my Openbuilds CNC router. Once I determine that this is the right software for me, I will go through the subscription process. I am also a Solidworks user, so I am mostly familiar with how much of the functions work.

When watching videos on YouTube for the CAM process, the videos show the user simply clicking on an item in their data panel and it opens on their workspace. However, when I double click on an item in my data panel, it opens it on a webpage. I have also tried right-clicking and choosing OPEN, but I do not have that option either.

I am assuming that this has something to do with the Teams setup in this version.

Can someone please walk me through how to open an item in my data panel please?

It really does not matter the type of Fusion 360 License you have, opening a file from the Data Panel is the same.  The only difference is with a Personal License you can only have 10 current editable documents at one time.  If this does not help, create a Screencast showing your process and attach it to your Forum post

I have never used the screencast before, so I hope I did this correctly.

Also, I do not have a microphone, so I could not talk over it as you did.

What I am showing is that when I double click to open the file out of the data panel, it opens the file in a web browser/ When I right click on the file, I do not have the "OPEN" option.

**Edit** Apparently I don't know how to attach the code for the screencast...so, here is a link:

I captured what I needed before your removed it.  What you have done is Uploaded a DWG file.  With a personal license you cannot open a DWG so it goes to the Fusion 360 web database and tries to view it.  If you create a Fusion 360 file, you will be able to double click it and open it from the Data Panel as well as right click it and select Open.  Below I show you what my Fusion 360 Data Panel looks like with a right click on a DWG file, no Open command.

Here is the link to your original Screencast.

Yes, I created the original file in Solidworks and then saved it as a dwg file.

I did this because I saw, in a video, where someone else had opened a dwg file like this. Given your explanation, I would assume that the YouTuber had more than a personal version.

Thank you for the assistance. I have accepted the solution.
