Issue with applying sketch to a patched face.

I am modeling a set of dice to hopefully CNC out and add to my collection and so I have began adding the numbers to all the dice.

I got through most the dice but once i got to the 12 sided one i tried to make a sketch on a face but every time i click sketch the faces are no longer able to be clicked and the origins are the only ones available.

I feel it may be because all the patches and the fact they are stitched together but I have tried remaking it and doing the same process but it doesn't seem to work.

If anyone could assist that would be fantastic.

Sincerely, D.C.Hymer

You will be a lot better off constructing the solid.  Attached is my model and also the model it was Derived from.

Why ?

You did not explain why the OP cannot sketch on one of the patches.

The reason is that the OP used fixed comma values with limited precision and the result is that the patches are not precisely flat.

I used the formula for the Dihedral angle, which can be found on the Wikipedia page for the regular dodecahedron.

Then using a surface based method is perfectly fine!

I should note the the formula for the dihedral angle includes the golden ratio.
