Is there a way to flatten a 3D sketch into a 2D sketch?

I am wanting to flatten a 3D sketch into a 2D sketch. I have attached a picture of the 3D sketch below. The overall goal is to have a 2D DXF file that can used for a CNC vinyl cutter. Thanks in a advance for the help.

Depending on what you are actually after I can see two possible solutions for this:

1. Project - finish your 3D sketch. Start a new sketch on a plane that suits (i.e. other geometry, offset plane, XYZ plane) and line up where you want the sketch plane to be then use the Project command (shortcut "P") to send it to the surface
   1. problem with this one is if you want to have a 2D sticker wrap onto a 3D object then it will lose some of its dimensional attributes
2. Use Exact Flat ( a Fusion add-in) to generate a flattened version and then work with it to get it to DXF
   1. I haven't used this service for quite some time but it did manage to take fairly complex 3D geometry and turn it into workable 2D patterns and this can then be exported as a DXF or other format - issue with this one is that the sketch needs some thickness to it so you would need to use the extrude or a combination of features such as patch then thicken to generate a 3D model

Eventually when the Sheet Metal environment comes on board this might also prove a likely possibility as the ability to flatten geometry could then be used to create a flat pattern. It is still in preview at the moment I believe and don't think it is taking on anymore testers for feedback so will likely have to wait a while. You can see the results of what some people are doing already on the forums though so it is promising.
