Is fusion 360 the right product for my hobby modelling?

I have previously used Sketchup for my DIY modelling at home. Tiling projects, building an outhouse, or modelling a verandah.

Now Sketchup make is no longer being supported, and will stop working on Mac OS in the latest update, I need to find a replacement.

Note I have an ipad pro 10.5 too with a pencil, and I really liked Shapr3d, but this has no desktop alternative AFAIK. I saw Autodesk Formit also was pretty good, although a little less intuitive maybe than Shapr3d.

But Formit does not seem to have a native desktop application to match. I see there is a web version, but that doesn't seem to work with my 3D Connexion space mouse.

So my requirements:

- 3D connexion spacemouse support

- Mac os and ipad pro editing option, optionally with intermediate conversion (conversion tools ?)

- Basic modelling of building projects with some dimensioning notation

- Very small budget (0-200USD a year, or a subscription that can be stopped and started at any time)

What would you advise ?

Can Fusion 360(desktop) be used in conjunction with Formit (ipad) ? (I am obviously missing some basic difference in the target audience of these applications, maybe you can enlighten me)

Grateful for any help,

Daniel

Fusion 360 does not run natively on iPad. The iOS version is just a viewer.

Fusion 360 does have a web browser version, but:

1. I am not sure it can be used on iOS (a while back that wasn't possible)

2. It does not have the same functionality as the desktop version.

I don't think there is any cross functionality between Formit and Fusion 360.

Fusion 360 does run natively on macOS!
