Can I somehow make this irregular shape? I need to make a 3D model of these cells.

If the goal is just to create a visual representation, you can place the image as a canvas on the origin plane. Scale and position it however you deem appropriate and create a sketch on the origin plane.

Using fit point splines, you can mimic the tendrils or cell walls, whatever you want to call them just by approximating the points along the path. Using that sketch, create a form body and use the pipe tool under create. Play with the settings and display style till you find something looks close to the picture. The larger cell structures can be modeled pretty easily with the solid modeling tools.

Hope this helps,

Another way that is also good is we can make a Square or rectangle size of thin sheet. And set the appearance of the top view to the image we want to take as a reference. And than Sketch on it...

Thanks and Regards,
