invalid uuid string

Hi,

I am getting a criptic message, namely "invalid uuid string" inside a very small window titled "Fusion 360", when I try to open a design file that I opened quite happily earlier this morning.

The rolling wheel in the data panel keeps rolling and there is a bar at the bottom right of the window that has a green stripe running along it.

I have shut down fusion and restarted it. Same problem.

The design I am trying to open is an assembly with multiple components inserted into it.

Regards,

Brett

Hi @Anonymous,

I am sorry to hear this is happening! Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing with the error message? Also, can you PM me your diagnostic log files along with the name of the project/part (can be collected in the help menu in the top-right). Just to check, does rolling back to the version before this started happening seem to fix the issue, or is it persistant?

Thanks,

Hi James,

First off - where do I get a screen shot? If you are talking about the "Prt Sc" button, I tried that but have no idea where the print went. If it happened in the first place.

Second - I have included the diagnostic logs here. The file name is "JANUS ASSEMBLY 001".Note that there will be 2 of them. The one that is giving me the trouble and the file that I uploaded from an earlier exported IGES version.

And third - I do not know if rolling back to an earlier version will actually do anything, the current version dates back to the 31st March. When I opened the file this morning, I had a look at the assembly and then closed it without saving and without any problems. Might be worth trying though.

Regards,

Brett

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for sharing the log files! Can you also invite me to the project (whoops forgot to ask in my first post!). My email is james.youmatz@autodesk.com. I want to try and see if I can generate this error message on my end. As far as screenshots go, I believe when you hit Print Screen, it just copies it to the clip board so you should be able to go to like Paint for instance and hit Paste and have it work.

Thanks,
