interogating model to extract lines etc

Hi Guys, getting used to fusion bit by bit but one thing i am used to doing is generating points and lines from the current model to help in building up the model. This was done by extraction commands ,, extract section, produce points etc. I am currently trying to extract the section where the horizontal plane cuts the model. (the visible section is from section analysis) i'm going mad trying to find out how to achieve it. Any help for this and future needs or does F360 do it in a different way?

Thanks, screen shot attached

Look at the projection tools. Project intersect will give you the intersection curves.

Mark, thanks for that, it seems to do part of the solution but not all. if i go down that route it just gives me the outside profile, not the inner shell, cant work that one out and if i try individual selection, well , it just goes haywire.

But its a start to know where i might look. I just wish there was a extract button option section, select body.

I do miss my ideas

but thanks Mark, truly appreciate it

Edit Sketch,

Project > Intersect,

has the option to select the full body, toggle the white body icon, in that dialogue box,

the total body section sketch will be provided, as requested.

Might help….

You can select the inner and outer faces in the Project/Intersect tool.  You may need to do a section analysis in order to select the inner face.

the projection shown in your pic isn't using the projection type that is being suggested to you.  the one you use dwill give a silhouette projection of the over body.  you want "intersect"

I have used the project notes detailed in this message successfully. The application was preparing a .stp model that was imported for use during an etching process for a customer. the model comes to me with a 0.001 depression for the text. A sketch was able to get all of the exterior lines of text on most letters, but missed the interior geometry of things like `A` `O` and `R`.
The project functions captured those details. Thank you for the instructions.

in the attached photo, the blue is highlighting the sketch captured text. The interior purple lines were added via the project tools in the sketch menu.

As Owner of this query. i thought it best to wrap it up, sorry for the delay but i've been ill. although many of you gave more detailed points i feel i have to give this to Mark Hughes, he started the ball rolling and gave me somewhere to start. Many thanks to all of you other very clever guys for expanding the start, i thank you all.

Well done Mark, and i really liked it when you were in charge of my team, QPR!!
