install exactflat (Mac iOS)

Some help please team:

I stopped the ExactFlat V2 add in, and then downloaded from the Autodesk exchange the updated ExactFLat V3.  NO Problem there.  click to install the downloaded package.  That seems to work OK.

Now, how to add to Fusion360 again?  Gone to "scripts & Add ins".  Press the nice + sign.  hmm - where do I find the ExactFlat API to add?

This is where I am stuck!  I am sure the answer is very simple, but is completely escapes me might now.

Any assistance please?

thanks

Mike

Hi @michael.k.jansen,

I personally haven't tried the installer, but here is the help documentation on it. It seems that the installer should just automatically install the application into your Plug-ins. So, when you go to Add-Ins do you see Exact Flat? My guess is this is where the installer should install by default. Is this not what you are seeing? Let me do some more research on this app in the meantime.

Thanks,

Thanks James - I though it would install by default, but I am not seeing it in either add ins or on the tool bar.  I suspect I have made an error somewhere along the way.

so here is what I did

note this was on a Mac as well

used the uninstall icon and reinstall no improvement

used the clean install found on the fusion site then the add in showed up and installed correctly

Thanks for Jumping in Stuart. I just ran through the clean install.  Got fusion360 back again (phew!), but still no joy in getting exactFlat in place.  Ill keep fiddling tonight.

Hi

We are looking at this to see what the issue is.  We're not sure why it isn't working for you.

Can you validate that the ExactFlat add-in doesn't appear in your Scripts and Add-ins listing after you run the install? (see image)

Fusion Addin menu.JPG

Can you also validate that you are accessing the ExactFlat Add-in from the "Model" workspace in Fusion 360?

Thanks

cliff

I can confirm I was using the model space.  Also the exact flat did not appear in the menu you are showing after the install.

In addition, it was not appearing in the addins folder (or anywhere else I could find in the mac hard drive!).

The exact-flat crew were kind enough to send me a zip file for the install, which I have unzipped into the addins folder.  I can confirm that this was successful, and the add-in now works as shown on the box.

I will try the install tonight on my iMac to see if it just a machine issue, or more widespread.  Updates to follow.

cheers

Mike

update:  exact flat installed from the Autodesk App store with no problem on my desktop.  it looks like this might be a local problem on my laptop, with is now resolved thanks to an easy workaround.

cheers

Hello

You mentioned that Installing and Accessing the ExactFlat Publisher Plugin for Fusion 360 on Mac OS worked fine on your desktop and laptop once you resolved the issue on your laptop.

Can you share a little more detail?

  • what was the issue on your laptop?
  • how did you resolve it?

Thanks
