Two of the great advantages of CAD is the ability to semi-automate generation of drawings and dimensions. But another ability is to create simulations.  With Incremental Morphing, you are simulating a future condition – A next-to-be state. Where form changes and processes into something practical. Incremental Morphing for simple solids (Non compound surface type - cuboidal) need to transform instantly to Maximum Material Condition (MMC) or Least Material Condition (LMC).  All the data is in the model and software to create MMC/LMC Digital Twins that generate “temporary states” to modify the design.

The ability with corresponding clicks, create MMC/LMC, move features, holes and hole patterns incrementally from nominal to worst case positions staying within design tolerance envelope. From there, make instant 2D views of the conditions showing interferences and export into a Design Review report. This can add value to the software performance by being able to simulate all “worse case conditions” in a model. So that statistically, everything under the quality bell curve “Fits/WORKS” going beyond Six Sigma of 99.74%. This capability will be sought by small and large manufacturers to goof proof their design and handle any production surges.

   The bread and butter of manufacturing companies is to produce debugged products for their customer. NO errors - no production slow downs - no rework and on time delivery.  Developing this part of incremental morphing (ref)

gfandjwdello@att.net) separate from enhancements to generative design and Cylindrify for complex shapes and geometry will save customer dollars $$$$$$. Autodesk development will hopefully see this as low hanging fruit. Most parts that small and medium companies make are not complex.  As a manufacturing engineer, I quickly learned that debugged subassemblies make a BIG difference in final assemblies for Form Fit and Function . Incremental Morphing as I propose here  will allow people to use CAD as a  powerful semi -automated design debugging tool - creating digital twin realities for various tolerance conditions and envelopes both at MMC and LMC.  It is MPO: that this will have the best benefit to literally everyone and should be looked at as a possible future Program to implemented by Autodesk developers. Because too many designs work at nominal but no one knows how the design works at ends of tolerance spectrum or envelope?

Will it fir or work?

A thoroughly debugged design works at all ends of tolerance spectrum. This defines quality and this is what the customer wants.
