Importing linked components from projects to other projects

Hello,

I've got a "project" that I treat as a folder that contains a repository that includes folders of various parts from different manufacturers and general parts that are used quite often.

Because it is in other projects there is that thing called "Branch" that only makes a copy of the part to the model in the other project when imported and is not parametric.

Now I want to cancel that braching thing between all projects and have every component I Import from other project to be also link.

How do I do it?

Thanks for helping.

Not sure what you mean. IMHO linking between projects are just not possible. Objects from the foreign projects will be copied into your project and are not linked anymore. There are some experienced users in this forum who recommend breaking links anyway.

Branches are a different thing. A branch is like an alternativ version of the object. But IMHO this feature should be disabled, because it was just available in the beta phase (and I hope it comes back soon ;-))

You sure there is currently no way to achieve that linking bypassing the projects gap?

Also that branching thing realy disturbs me sins I want to delete some old designs get the project folder finally clean and can't get it done because it says that the current component is being used in other designs and when trying to delete those designs it won't allow me either by saying the same thing.

Any advice on passing that as well?

Thanks for the help.

Yes I'm sure. Could you provide some screen captures / screen casts for your "branching" problem.
