Imported Canvas Visibility Issues

Hi. I am trying to make a model of something from an imported image. When I import images the image is barely visible. I can set the opacity to 100% and it is still barely visible. Sometimes when I do certain commands the image will go fully opaque, but when the command is complete it goes back to barely visible. The photo below shows the darkest anything I import gets. I feel like I am missing some setting or something, but I am a novice at fusion and can't find any information on canvas visibility issues like this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Please attach your model as well as a copy of your image you are trying to use as a Canvas.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

What are those "certain commands"?  Can you tell us when that happens?

Do you have multiple components in your design?  Is a component other than the one that contains the canvas active?  This looks like the dimming that occurs by default when one component is active.  Try changing this preference:

Thank you for the replies. Jeff, your information about active components solved my problem. Even knowing that it makes sense to have the canvas in the component that I am working on, I didn't notice that it wasn't in the component tree that I was working on.  Thank you very much. Sorry for the lack of information as well. This is my first post so my novice is showing.
