import stp from Rhyno is empty/invisible

Hi, I have been struggling with this for a while. I need to work on a 3d surface of an arch top guitar that was modelled in rhyno, to then do the appropriate CAM programming. I got the .stp files from the previous designer but if I insert the stp into current design, nothing shows up. Fusion creates the component but there are no bodies or surfaces...

I tried to open the .stp files with some online viewer and the design is there (although it shows as wireframe, not a surface... maybe that's the problem).

Any idea on how to fix this?  Thanks, Max

Never had any problems importing stp files from Rhino. Have you got an example you can share? You could try exporting as a DWG and uploading to the data panel as DWG will import Curves, Surfaces and Meshes.

This is the export scheme I use for DWG\DXF.

Thanks Mark, I'm not sure I can share the file here as it's not my work... I can PM maybe?

I don't know what export options were checked in Rhyno during export...

OK got your file and it only contains curves, no surfaces at all. Don't think what's in the file would be any use in Fusion anyway, it's just a network of lines. Can't think of any useful workflow using this in Fusion.

Thanks Mark, it turns out the files I received only had the lines grid as you pointed out. I received a new set of stp files with the proper surfaces and all is good 🙂
