Import from Inventor

Sometimes when I get a file from drafting dept., not all of the features on a part transfer over. They use Inventor for modeling and in this particular instance, it's threads that don't show up. They show up in the browser and it's no big deal on my end because I already know that the holes need to be tapped, and which threads I'm going to produce, but I was curious if it was the result of some setting or maybe my workstation isn't powerful enough to generate them, would like to know your thoughts. Attached are two screenshots, and the file itself. Thanks in advance!

Hi James - the threads in Inventor and Fusion are representations (similar to a decal) instead of actually being modelled. The reason it is done this way is to improve performance in assemblies - imagine lots of screws with their threads and the associated increased compute times, rendering times, interactive rotate, etc.

Of course, the thread information is still stored in the .ipt or .f3d for retrieval. I'm not sure if this is retained somewhere when switching between the two... @jeff_strater - can you help with this?

Hope this helps to explain what you're seeing!

Thanks! This clears things up, I guess I'm just curious if they should be there and if it's something on my end. Thanks again!
