IGS file has no faces, vertices

I am modeling bone structures obtained from CT scans. I created an IGS file of the structures and opened it in Fusion 360, however when I try to use mesh modification tools, there are no faces or vertices to select. All I can select is the entire mesh body. Is there a way to add faces and vertices to the mesh?

Can you share a screenshot or the IGS file? IGES is a BREP geometry format, so I'm a bit confused why you would use mesh editing tools on anything generated from that.

STL and OBJ files are mesh file formats support by Fusion 360. Have you tried using one of these formats?
