I just want to move text to the left - not pivot it

I have pulled all my hair out. I placed some text on a face. I did not explode or extrude. After the initial placement I decided I needed to move it a little bit to the left. But whether I use the Move command or Edit Text command, the handles I’m given allow me to rotate/pivot the text, but I am not able to simply move it up or down or left or right. I cannot figure out how to do this. I’d love to know!

Just click+drag over the entire text box and use the move command. you can move it that way. If you just select a corner of the text box then you will be resizing or rotating the text.

I'm struggling with the same issue. The suggested solutions do not work. All attempts to move the text actually just rotate it.

Hi, Ryan,
Check whether there is a constraint for example, to the origin, which prevents the action.

Is this the constraint that's driving me crazy? I don't see how to remove it. It doesn't show up on constraints bar.

The midpoint constraint would keep you from moving the text.

How do I get rid of it so I can move the text. I tried fix/unfix. This happened because my keeps coming out upside down. If I leave it upside down I can move it. If I rotate it then I'm anchored there. I want my text to get typed right side up and moveable.

Thanks.

Your text is constrained to the midpoint of a line which was projected from another body or sketch.  You could either delete the projected line or you could delete the midpoint constraint.

Thank you! I was struggling with the same thing for days. The constant didn't show up until I selected that corner.

I have the same issue.  I'm sure there is a way to do this however this is a strong example of Fusion 360 being overly complicated at times.  This should be a click, hold, drag, and be happy with the new location however...

I agree that it doesn't work.  So frustrating that it is this difficult just to move a stupid little text window.  I'm going to have to delete everything within the window, create a new one and extrude the new text.

Again, what is soooo frustrating is that this should be an easy move.

This should never become a topic within any forum.

Without your file, it's hard to tell what you're doing wrong.  Text does move exactly like @jeff_strater shows in his video.  Constraints will affect the behaviour of a click and drag operation.
