I Don't Understand the Loft Function

I have spent several hours trying a simple loft, but it does not work. I am sure the problem is with the Sketches being incomplete or wrong. I want the loft to follow 2 splines that a drew in a sketch. The splines go from one sketch to another. I don't see it in the time line, but I projected one sketch to the top most sketch so I could connect a spline from one to the other. After getting the spline right I mirrored it to the other half of the sketch. When I tried the loft and use the splines as rails, the error says the rails do not touch all profiles. So I tried to add a coincident constrain to the spline and a line in the top sketch. It won't add the constraint. After hours of reading and you tube, I am certain the first problem is the sketches. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me where the problem is and how to fix it.

Thank you.

Hi,

1. The rails must be connected to the contour of the profiles. This is not the case with profile 1.

2. You must also optimize the spline.
This works best if you only use as many control points as absolutely necessary and control the curve via their positions as well as the tangent lengths and the inclination.

@Im1in260m

I would probably not use Loft for this design.

Any reason you chose this offset plane rather than the surface of your base body?below.jpg

A new sketch and similar spline mirrored seems to work OK:

Thank you!

I knew there was something wrong with the sketch. But I couldn't see it! The video was super helpful.

Again, thank you.

Thank  you for replying. What would be better? This has been way more difficult than it should have been. I originally thought of using a form, but gave that up because I didn't think I could get the same precision.
