I cannot create a line 90deg to a curve?

Is this something Fusion cannot do? If I have my curve and I add a line whos starting point is co-incident with the curve I expect I should be able to add a perpendicular constraint but the option is not there?

Is there a way to do it?

Lines perpendicular to an arc will also be coincident to the centre point.

You can't do this with Splines, but you did not identify arc or spline.

Might help....

Hi,

if a line should be perpendicular to a curve, this is only possible to a tangent at a point of this curve.

Attach your *.f3d file here if you can’t figure it out.

Hi, Mr. Men8ifr,

In 3D space, a point on a curve (any one including splines) can be start of infinitesimal numbers of normal to the curve lines.

This set of lines creates another geometrical primitive called 2D plane.

Knowing this consider:

- creating Plane On Path construction plane at the curve's point of your interest.

- create sketch on this plane

- any line drawn from the center of the sketch will be perpendicular to the curve (spline)
