So this is the texture 'polystyrene' from the Appereance library. I would like to model it physically into my model. How can that be done? Polystyrene.png

Thx, Peter - is this random/intermittent?  Any repeatable way to get the issue to surface?  When I clicked on the link above it, of course :-), opened just fine.

With this link that is very repeatable. Yeah, I know that does not help but I really don't have any better ideas either ...

Well, one. An all expenses paid trip to Portland and I'll, bring he hard/software and user 😉

Smiley Happy well... the good news is the team just got a similar error message when testing.  They're investigating.

Re: Portland... are you thinking about coming out for the Fusion Academy in August?

So before getting into the mat of this here are two essential tips for modeling with T-Splines:

1. Avoid use triangles a all cost.

You've got two in the first T-Spline. One is visible, the other is on the opposite side.

2. Model this mostly in box view mode. When looking at T-Splines in smooth view mode they almost always look OK.

I am sure you'll agree that in box-view mode this does not look so great and BTW that "line" I highlighted is the triangle in smooth mode. You can see how thin this sliver is in reality.

In general, if your T-Spline receives the necessary attention in box view mode then the smooth result will always look good.

To close the loop on the issue reported with the link error message, the team has found the problem and will be fixing it soon.  Thx for reporting!

@Anonymous Now that  I've looked at the model, can I ask why you are doing this in Fusion 360 ?

Almost everything is mesh (T-Spline) modeled and those few things that aren't can be addressed with booleans in Blender.

I am not trying to deter you from using Fusion 360, but particularly when it comes to these 3D textures you are hitting a hard stop in Fusion 360. You'll have to use either MeshMixer or another software such as Blender to create that sort of geometry.

Here is a screencast that shows how this can be done with the help of Blender. Fusion 360 does not have any native tools that can do this and I doubt will have in the foreseeable future:

@TrippyLighting  @lichtzeichenanlage - we believe we have fixed this issue.  Can either of you confirm?  Thx!

I cannot confirm that! It still happens when I am logged in using Safari.

So what I do now I copy the link, paste it into Chrome and then there's no problem 😉

Thanks, Peter - we've been able to reproduce again on Mac Safari.  The team is reviewing and will fix.
