How to share a file?

I have a friend that I would like to share my model with.  I have added this person under the data panel - people for the project.  It seems that they do not have the same access as I do to my model.  Isn't this the point of modeling in the cloud.  What is the best work flow for collaborating on a model?  Thanks

Regards Peter.

Hi @Pshupe,

That should be the way to do it! Can you expand a bit more on what you mean by he does not have the same access as you? If this is a personal hub (as opposed to a Team Hub where you can set permissions) then it is either you have full access or you have no access. Do you have a Team Hub? If so, you will need to visit your Team Hub via A360 and assign permissions to the user there.

Thanks,

I have invited him to myhub and he seems to be able to access my hub from the web interface but cannot log into my hub from Fusion 360 to access the model from the Data Panel.  Is that the way it should work?  I sent him a link to this thread, so hopefully he will also post here.  It would be nice to be able to collaborate on this project, as I assume this is the whole point of the cloud hosted models.  Thanks.

Regards Peter.

I'm the idiot friend here who can't figure this out!  But I think I got it.  Certainly wasn't an issue on Peter's end, very much my fault.  I was trying to download files from the web and load them into Fusion rather than opening the hub directly in Fusion.  When I first got access to the hub I didn't see it show up in my Fusion, which is why I went to the web to download files.  All is hopefully good now!

Yeah it seems to work well now.  It sure is great from this standpoint.  It's funny how it really never crossed my mind either, that hey Fusion 360 is in the cloud, so if I grant access it's just like me working on the model.  25yrs of working with Autodesk products that had to be transfered to  floppy / Zip / USB key memory devices has definitely impacted my thought processes.  Thanks for all the help.

Cheers Peter.
