How to set the project thumbnail?

This is a minor issue, but in the Fusion360 projects overview panel, some of my projects have thumbnails, and others don't. I haven't found any way of setting up a thumbnail image. Is there?

Yes, you can do this.

  1. Open the project in the Data Panel
  2. Click on the project name, which will bring you to the A360 website.
  3. Click on the icon and change it to whatever you want

Do you happen to know if some file types work better than others?  I have several projects that have custom thumbnails and they don't show up in the software.  They show up in the web view though.  Only the stock thumbnail choices show up in the software.  I've tried pngs and jpegs.  Strangely I do have one project that works in both places.  And several that work in neither.  The whole thing just seems broken.

Maybe someone from Autodesk has some insight...

This doesn't seem to work for me. Did this change recently, or am I missing something. I see the option to add my own image when creating a new project in A360, but have no way to change the image once it is created.

I'm having the same issue. Clicking on the thumbnail brings up nothing. Is this solution now out-of-date?

doesn't work for me, if i open the Fusion iOS App or the A360 App, still the standard picture. Would be nice if someone would find a solution or fix it if its a bug

  1. Open the project in the Data Panel
  2. Double click and open the project
  3. Click the "globe icon with an eye", still in the data panel, if you hover over it, it said "Open on the Web"
  4. After you open the project, there is a tab on the far right of your screen that said "Project Details"
  5. Click on the thumbnail there.
  6. Ponder on the rationale why they make it so difficult to do something so simple for the rest of your living days.

It would be great if it just placed the project preview you get in the data panel in F360.  If this thumbnail would show every where for the project until you change it to something else.  Just saying.

Perfect! Thank you! This has been annoying me for far longer than I'd like to admit. Have a good one.

None of these options work, the new web interface has really limited functionality. I changed the thumbnail in older version but can't do it in this update anymore!!

If this helped solve your issue - remember to 'accept as solution' to help other find answers!

Thanks for the tip but it only seems to work on the project folder? Not the files themselves...
