How to remove enviroment reflections when rendering a object?

Is it possible to remove enviroment reflections from a object rendering? As in removing reflections of the enviroment "room" but still keeping the light souces tied to the enviroment. I am currently trying to render a transparent object that will be exported as backgroundless, but the room reflections makes the object look messy.

I am using a solid color as background, but the reflections still show the true enviroment.

As far as I understand it, there aren't really "light sources" when rendering - the light that you see in the rendering comes directly from the HDR image that makes up that environment. I don't know that there's a way to do what you're asking with the Fusion 360 render workspace but you might try:

  1. Rotate/move the environment in the scene settings until it doesn't show the reflection you're trying to avoid
  2. Make your own HDR environment or download a different one than the one you're using (ie: one that's more plain)
  3. Use a less reflective appearance or modify the one that you're using so it doesn't show that background image being reflected as it is currently

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community.

Photo booth environment shows the least reflections. Have you tried that?

The rendering lighting is all IBL (image based lighting). I looked for a "reflectionless" IBL on a web search and came up with nothing, but I didn't dig very deeply. I think that may be your best bet. In Settings (for rendering) there is a way to upload your own IBL.

If anyone knows some tricks in Render to avoid reflections, I'm sure they'll share it here. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

I see. I have tried to find a plain HDR, I think that would be the best solution.
Thanks!

Yes I have tried to look for a reflectionless IBL, but didn't have too much luck on that. I will give photo booth another try, Thanks!

What you are looking for is a render engine that can add render flags to materials and objects

controlling their property to cast shadow show up in the camera emit light and show up in reflection or catch a shadow.

Fusion's build in Render engine does not offer that since it is made more for low level quick renderings.

What you are asking for are more advanced render settings you find in engines that run in Blender Maya Max Modo and such.

Using a simple IBL is one trick, designing an environment with backdrop mesh lights and reflection boards is another approach.
