How to open a dimension for editing after long left click?

I know that when there are multiple possible selection under the cursor you can hold the left mouse button down and then select from the list. When I select a dimension, it becomes slightly highlighted but then how do I open it for editing? I can't double-click on it or it will select whatever is on top. What am I missing?

Hi,

double click only and edit dimension.

No, does not work. The dimension (or whatever I want to edit) is not the top object so it won't be selected.

check the "select through" box in your selection filter and you won't need the long click.

Or, you know, just orbit the model around until the dimension isn't behind anything else. While you're in that position, perhaps drag the dimension to a position that won't be behind anything anymore. Just an option.

It is always my first choice but it isn't an option when the dimension is buried inside a model. Yes, I can turn off visibility for everything other than the sketch I want to check or edit but that is a lot of overhead. The Select Through option is the best all-around solution for me.
