How to model a chamfer?

Hi all,

Can someone please help me model a chamfer on this gear?

I made gear with Spurgear script and then modified it slightly to get the dimensions I need.

I don't know how to model chamfer on teeth.

Please help.

Thanks

Just chamfer two edges as shown in this screenshot (this is just a demo and you'll need to enter the correct angle and chamfer distance according to your requirements):

Then circular pattern the two chamfer faces like this:

Just a quick note: I'm not too familiar with the details of DIN 5480 splines (or any splines come to that!) and I don't know how important it is in your use case, but are you sure that using the gear script gives the correct tooth form?

Hope this helps.

I've created a Windows application (and now Mac as well) for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
If you need to know how to offset threads for 3D printing then I've created a guide here which you might find useful.
If you would like to send me a tip for any help I've provided or for any of my software applications you've found useful, you can do this via my Ko-Fi page here.

Thanks for help,

I was certain that due to the shape, it had to be something much more complicated so I didn't even try Chamfer command.

I don't know what software company uses but I will have correct tooth profile generated for this job.

Thanks again

No problem, just thought I'd mention it in case it was important.
