How to mend angled bodies so that the corners/edges are not stress points during simulation?

How to mend angled bodies so that the corners/edges are not stress points during simulation?

Hi,

I have attached 3 images of my work. They are pictures of a sectioned mandible. I have removed the teeth by splitting the bodies and now what remained is a 90 deg cut-out which is stress points during simulation or FEA.

I need to make that highlighted portion more fluid without the 90 deg edge.

1. How could I have sectioned it out better without a 90 deg cut-out?

2. In this current state, how can I mend it to avoid the angled body?

Regards,

it looks like this is a solid body, so the easiest way would be to just add a fillet at the sharp corner:

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried that before but I was looking for something more fluid and continuous. Thanks to you, while I was trying your method again, I explored other functions. I stumbled upon the merge function under "surface".  And it works! I split the body first and then performed the functions as I did not want it the merge all the way to the longer side of the surface.

I want to remove those lines on the surface of the model. It was automatically formed when I converted from mesh to brep. (I will create a new thread for this instead. Help me out if can.)

Thank You!
