How to make this lid from my box?

I have designed a simple box with screw holes. I want to create a lid which will be blank but with holes for the screws.

Could someone advise how is best please?

I tried to extrude and create an offset, it creates the lid I want but it's of course hollow. I need to fill in the top area to complete the lid.

Also, I would like it so when I change the box dimensions, the lid changes to match. Is that possible?

Many thanks

Wow. You really need to go through some of the beginner tutorials that can be found in the Help menu.

You just need ONE sketch and TWO components.

"Wow" - that's encouraging......given that it took me a couple of hours on my first go.

Actually I followed the youtube guides instead:

I do appreciate the time taken with your video, but I'm none the wiser at the moment. Maybe I'll just not bother.

@chrisplyler shows you a better way to model your box.  If you follow the workflow in his video, you'll find it will pay dividends when you're designing more complex models.

Here's one way to fill the lid using your current model:

Note: The holes in the lid will need to be drilled after printing as they are too small for 4mm screws.  The threaded holes in the bottom will probably not print correctly unless you have an exceptionally good printer.  I usually model holes slightly smaller than the thread's minor diameter, then drill and tap them.

Thank you @etfrench for the quick workflow, I appreciate it has issues but for now it's a lot to learn.

I will follow @chrisplyler workflow in the near future!

Oh. I forgot to address your requirement that the lid follows the box dimensions.... Since I made the lid from the same sketch that I made the box from, they both resize together when a value in that sketch is modified.
