Hi

I model a fold table as below

Table top are 2 pieces. they will connect by pin. When they fold, 2 pieces of table top will rotate same time.

Need advice to make Joint for 2 pieces of table top rotate same time.

P/s I could not share the file because privacy.

Thank

Travis

Motion Link x 2 - between centre revolve and an outside revolve,

without the file I would not know the ratio.

Whats grounded?

From file as supplied,

Needs 4 more joints,

Revolve on the 2nd Centre bar end,

Planar Joints on a left and right leg to the floor (root component)

and the Slider from Table Pin to floor, joint limit set 250 mm at the moment,

ngbwa.PNG

which makes it hard to click drag, however animates Ok with Animate the Slider joint.

Could you upload your try.

I'm thinking about 2 pins slide up same time.

In that pic, the yellow circles already have joints, keep them, Yes both pins up, but just one joint so far

you need the ones in red as well,

When the table is folded, the spacer bar - same distance up keeps the legs on same angle,

If the legs must be vertical (early pic) when folded then you need another joint for that, must then be Motion Linked.

Planar Joint, (as built)

from Origin of file to centre point of bull nose leg cut.

Select - Rotate is Joint Y, and Slide is Origin X

Same for other leg.

Hi @davebYYPCU

Thank a lot, first time I know can joint with Origin.

I check the first sketch and add some constraint a below:

travisdesignervn_0-1627460421894.png

As you can see 2 legs are parallel.

However they will not parallel in Joint motion.

travisdesignervn_2-1627460509404.png

I see you set limit Slide 250. In stead of set limit. I created New contact set/ select 2 legs.

I think they will prevent them overlap.

Need advice to make 2 legs parallel.

Thank

Travis

Good luck with that, can be done in real life, but did not get it in Fusion.

I  will try to explain,

Table and spreader bar, are not the same length, making two pins move same distances, Ok, that works but,  You can not straighten the leg first, because table is in the way,

Two sliders locks this model up.
