Hello!
I'm building a model of a cupola roof. I want to close the gaps between the segments with thin plywood. Is it possible to draw these elements as sheet metal elements to get a correct unfold for CAM?
Thanks for your help

Hello CadWhisperer!
Hard to say!
I have good knowledge in the field of design (Sketch, Extrude, Revolve, Sweep, Loft ...).
I have some experience in sheet metal.
I have little experience in the patch field.
But I am very optimistic that my experience will be sufficient to understand your explanation.

I didn't see any dimensions on your first sketch?
I will have to remodel from scratch (and use Components) in addition to fully defined sketch.
Back in a while (after I get other work done).
I'm sorry you're having such an inconvenience. It was just a quick example to describe my problem. Dimensions are not important. It is only about the solution in general.
By the way: How do you dimension splines correctly?
Thank you for your effort

Yes, that would save me a lot of time in demonstrating how to solve your problem.
I dimension the nodes of splines vertically and horizontally relative to the Origin Center Point.
In some cases it is also necessary to constraint the node Handles, especially the beginning and ending of a spline.
So, I found a solution that is OK for me. I used the model with no changes.
What I did:
In sheet Metal I made a midplane between two segments
I project the curve to that plan and made a Flange with this curve
Back to model from top view I made a Split Body with the segment lines as tool.
I removed the unnecessary body.
Than a Circular Pattern.
The way and the result is OK for me.
Thanks a lot
Jan
