How to make a component a subcomponent?

Hi. I'm having an issue making one component a subcomponent of another in this design:  http://a360.co/28Vdjvh

I'm trying to move Component Pipe 2 Right Cap:1 from its current location in the browser so that it appears under the Pipe 2:1 component as shown in red line in the diagram below. In fact I can't seem to move anything in browser hierarchy. Plz assist.

Thanks!

I just opened your assembly trying to answer your other thread.

You should simply be able to drag the Pipe 2 Right Cap into Pipe 2.

Also in general the actual pipe in that assembly should also be a component, not a body, so you end up only with components at one level and not a mixture of bodies and components.

The assembly joints in Fusion 360 only work between components.

THanks TL!. My problem with hierarchy was that I was trying to drag Pipe 2 Right Cap:1 BETWEEn Pipe2:1 and its Origin item, and not ON Pipe2:1. That faint gray link with triangle terminators that appeared when I do that led me to think that "between" was the required target. I'm wondering now what that gray line is for.

Thanks!

I also found that I was able to explode Pipe 2:1 in animation, presumably because there's no body/component mix on the first sublevel.

Also, make sure when moving stuff with the move tool to be aware whether you're moving a component, or a body.

I've noticed that several bodies that are part of components are not located at the components origin point.

When working in the viewport it's easy to left-click on a 3D object and use the move tool. That, however moves a body, possibly within it's component and that is usually not desired.

To select a component in the viewport double-left-click on the object.

I am really struggling with this. I have been trying and trying to move components into sub-components but can't seem to make it work. Any ideas?
