How to join two pipes

I am trying to join these two round pipe sections with a tapered connection 3mm wall thickness. Tried a loft, but could not seem to make it work.

@lauronS2NZY

I would use Loft, or better yet, Revolve...

Example files illustrating both techniques Attached.

Checked the file - now.  You are working too hard.

One circle, modified Extrude1, Chamfer, Extrude2 and Shell.

Hollow loft is not an available option in the Loft command.

Previously I said,

Loft the outside (all) profiles so as to make a lofted joining Rod / Bar.

Shell the Rod to become a Tube / Pipe.  Alternative is to create a second Loft with inside profiles, as Loft > cut.

Might help…..

 Hi, Can you help me understand why the error message accrues when trying to Loft? I get the revolve which works but the file he has shows an error when trying to loft? What is the continuity condition in this example?

Using the smooth loft file,

The profiles selected for the Loft, must be the faces of the extruded bodies.

The conditional options are found here. (Connected, Tangent and Curvature - drop down menu)

If selecting the sketch circles, these conditions are unavailable.

I think I am missing something as well?

@RufusToad

Cannot Loft between rings (unless Surface Loft, but that is also circles) - selection must be end face of solid cylinders.

Shell the wall thickness after loft.

Go back and examine the examples that I Attached earlier.

Do you see any Loft between rings?

take a look

(view in My Videos)

Note: The use of the shell tool guarantees a consistent wall thickness.
