How to get to sculpt environment

The lesson called "Import and Export" walks you through uploading a generic file. The voice over says that the default environment is "SCULPT" but I can't find that option anywhere, nor the "Create Form" or "Create Model" that showed up in other answers (though one was from 3 years ago). So if you link to that old answer I will be even more frustrated with this. This is the 2nd time in 2 lessons that the bloody thing does NOT duplicate the behavior I see on my machine and it's really freaking frustrating to have to search for answers EVERY TIME.

Anyhow, this is what my screen shows under various menus.

This interface is not impressing me so far, Autodesk. Users shouldn't have to hunt around for stuff that you put in your videos.

The interface has changed - you are probably watching an old video.
What is the link?

this was the list of vids. More important, how do I get to the sculpt environment?

Step 1, Capture Design History - Timeline - must he turned on.

The menus change and in the Solid area, Create > Create Form will be 3 from the top of the menu.

Might help.....

Rather than a list - can you specify exactly which one?

OK I found that, bu tI still can't for the life of me figure out how to get to "sculpt" and then (per the video) to "Patch"

From the image that you attached in original problem statement...

These tools are now on the Surfaces tab.

You might have an easier time going through those older videos by first going through these >>

Thanks it wasn't clear to me they meant that option since in the video it's in the box to the left where I have "DESIGN". So that is the same "Patch environment" whatever that means, they are referring to, yes?  And what about the "sculpt"? I still can't see that anyplace, or is it hidden somewhere? This whole thing is really confusing at best.

Thanks for pointing that out, bu tI should tell you as a relatively non techie user the idea that I have to constantly monitor updates and figure out on my own that the videos presented there -- with NO explanation that they might be out of date -- is off-putting, to say the least.

It's like, "Hey, I am sure all the users are psychics" method of software development/ rollout. This stuff is NOT intuitive to 99% of the population.

Welcome to a changing “cloud-based” world.

Fusion is updated every 6 to 8 weeks - but once you get over the initial hurdles - it is still glacially slow in reaching where we were in other CAD programs a decade ago.  These UI changes have brought it more in line with mature CAD programs.

If this is slow then it strikes me as not worth using at all... there's literally no point in learning to use it, since it will change on a dime. Every six to eight weeks? That basically makes the thing entirely useless!

ETA: sorry my frustration with this stuff is starting to get to me. But really, you can't muck about with UI all the freaking time with something like this, which is non intuitive and technical, it only makes it *harder* to learn to use it. I can't think of a better way to convince people that CAD isn't for them.

If your still here, (I am learning to capture menus)

Majority of changes have been to improve, not confuse.

Might help.
