How to get the intersection of 2 surfaces ?

Hi,

All is nearly in the title.

I don't see how to create a 3D spline, being this intersection.

If I have to create a 2D sketch to get a 3D spline, it's all but logical !!!

If I can't get easily the intersection of 2 surfaces, at least : how can I stick a vertice of a sculpt loft on a sculpt extrude, being in the same form, btww ?

But to get the intersection of 2 surfaces, and then matching an edge of a sculpt surface to this intersection seems more precise, imo, even if I didn't try it until now.

Tx a lot for your help.

This is an example of something I am trying to work on as well. I would love a project feature that allows me to Project whee a line or body intersects a construction plane. Now, if I have a line that intersects at an angle to a construction plane. Let's say 60 deg. When I try to project it into my construction plane I get a line. Not the intersection point. If I hav a body intersecting a construction plane I would like a cross section as the projection.

If you have a problem, why are you replying here, instead of asking something with a specific thread ?

Btw, my question is pretty simple, and very general.

With the kind of problem like yours, a file, or at least a picture would be very appreciate.

But in a specific thread, plz.

Cut one surface with the other, Split body,

use the edge you are given.

Tx a lot for your help.

To split a body is multiplying the instances, yet.

To have a feature getting a curve as intersection of 2 surfaces would be really useful.

And if one surface isn't splitted into 2 pieces - a case which is very common -, this method isn't working, and I have to adjust very accuratly one of the 2 ingredients.

.

Your first question was not clear, about sculpt area I can't talk about,

If you have 2 curves, you do not need the surfaces, to make 3d curves, a few ways and combinations,

use Project > Intersection curve, you select each part of the curve to build 3d sketch curves,

Or for surfaces you can split body, for 3d curves,

or use Project > Intersect > Body, for 2d curve.

Might help....

Hi,

Tx a lot with the last message, that is a real help.

I got this 3D curve in 5 clicks.

In fact, I used extrude surfaces, because that was needed with SW, to get a 3D curve, but even if I found that very complicated (using 2 surfaces to get a 3D curve given with 2 plane curves), the real way is to use 2 plane curves  to get the 3D curve.

Mathematically, it's exactly that.

I already noticed that the SW team was often mathematically wrong.

It's not the case with Fusion team.
