How to export to PDF?

I made some modifications to a DXF file which I got from a vendor, the file serves as a specification for the vendor to make custom changes.

Now I have 2 problems:

1. they asked me to send them PDF version in addition to DXF, but I don't see any way to export to PDF from Design view. How do I do that?

2. They also say when they open my modified DXF they see an empty design. Why would that be? Are DXFs exported by Fusion360 not compatible with other application?

Hi,

1. how did you export the DXF?
> sketch > right click > save as DXF >> single sketch
2. File > export > DXF ... >> model

3. Save as DXF sketch (1:1) > convert DXF to PDF (Adobe or  online converter)

I use Fusion on Mac, DXF export is in the list of supported file formats, but no PDF option there. When you say Adobe, do you mean Adobe Illustrator?

I cannot believe I have this problem after paying $60/m for Fusion.

There is an Export as PDF option in the Drawing section of Fusion. Get the model set up how you want and select export as PDF.

If they are seeing a blank screen when they open the dxf, then depending on how you made the dxf depends on the way to fix it. The easiest way, especially if it is a flat surface model, is to create a sketch on the surface you want shown in the dxf, then finish the sketch. Right click the new sketch and click save as dxf. If it is an uneven surfaced model, then you may need to project a plane above the highest point of the surface and project all points to the newly created plane. Create a sketch on the plane and finish the sketch. Right click on the sketch and select export as dxf.

I have nothing in Drawing view, all I have is 2D DXF opened and modified under Design view. If I try to create a drawing by right-clicking on my DXF all I get is a new empty drawing.

Do your collaborators actually utilise the .pdf or is it for information only? A 1:1 or Scale pdf can be created from the DRawing environment with a few provisos...But the important issue is what you describe as empty .dxf files. Can you share a screenshot of the Sketch that you are using to create the .dxf via Right-Click?

OK it looks like you have multiple what I would describe as Drawings but as sketches...some with 3D type representations...I assume they are from another CAD SW?

Which part do you need .dxfs of?

Are you modifying in the Isometric section?

Hi,

I see views of a imported drawing*, where the scale of the elements is not known.
Of course, it is difficult to get something useful from this.
