How to Draw Bounding Box Around SVG Logo?

Hi,

I'm somewhat new to Fusion 360 and am wondering how after I import an SVG image of a logo I can draw a bounding box around it so that I might more easily center the logo on a sketch plane using said bounding box?

I've included the SVG file I'm using below.

I have Auto Project Edges on Reference turned on in my Preferences so finding the point, I use in the video is easy.  There are other ways to place the point also.  After that, the sketching of a 2 Point Rectangle is easy.

Hi and thanks for the great tip!

How would I then move the finished sketch such that I can center it on a selected face? The face in question is a rectangle on the side of a box which was created before the SVG was imported into the project.

Can you please attach the model that has this face in it.  You original question has been answered, your are just adding to it.  Please select "Accept Solution" to my solution and attach your model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

You need to keep in mind, when you want to find a Midpoint of a line, you hold down the Shift key and hover over the line until the midpoint hightlights.  I talk about selecting using a Window, this is a left mouse click and drag.  The video and these methods are basic Fusion 360 commands and functions.  I recommend you take some time and follow some of the basic training exercises included with Fusion 360.  I have attached your model that I used in the video is you need it.

Looks good!  Now do not forget the "Accept Solution" on my second video.  If you want to understand why marking post with the Accept Solution is so important, please take a look at this webpage.

Also, I want to bring something to your attention. When responding to a post from someone, do not use the "Post Reply" icon as this will address your post to yourself. Instead use the "Reply" icon on the post you are responding to address your post to that person. Look back at the messages in this post and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for the Accept Solution.  Also, you will not be able to Slide your cover on your box using Assembly Joints because you only have Bodies in your model.  You must have Components.

I took the liberty to add Components to your model, expand and study the Browser.  I then added a Slider Joint to the top lid, grounded the base and added limits to the top movement.  Left click and drag your mouse on the top to slide it open.  Model is attached.

Thanks for the pointers! I'll print the box from the file I drew as I find that following an example step by step teaches me more than just taking someone else's finished solution directly.

Thanks again for bearing with me; I'll try to post an image or two once the print is done.
