what are you trying to end up with? do you have a drawing, sketch, picture of something like what you want?
Hi laughingcreek;
I try to replicate this model:
I intent to create circle plane, then subdivide. I will move vertex. This is first brainstorm.
off topic, but these tthreads may be of interest to you-

Thank laughingcreek, I will consider it and give feedback asap
another approach if you don't want a regular pattern.
Thank laughingcreek ,
I think this is good solution in this case.
After 5 hours, This is result 😀
You certainly CAN do it with a Form. If you're looking for parametric control and geometric regularity, I certainly prefer to model it WITHOUT a Form if possible, using the typical Solid and Surface tools based on Sketches.

That's more or less what we did. my sketching was'n't as sophisticated because it was late, and I didn't feel like fiddling with it.
And, yes, I can also control variance in the waves' frequency...

Ah... I thought you guys were working with a Form. Sorry to stick my nose in then.
actually, the OP might benefit from studying your sketch. Mine was really a hack job, just to illustrate a possibility.
Great Job chrisplyler, I intent to try build this model in Form model.
Could you please share the file. Thank
Here you go...
