How to create a bevel gear

It's me with a question again 😉

I try to find a good way to create a bevel gear. I know this video, but it looks like, that the result is not to promising.

I have my problems with this video too because it's hard to follow.

Downloaded parts from McMaster-Carr are measured in inch, sides like tracepartsonline or parts4cad are measured metric but they're either inaccurate / not working or dummies / without teeth.

This plugin works, but doesn't allow many adjustments.

What I like to know if there are any tutorials, sides plugins, screencast etc. I've missed?

I haven't tried bevel gears in Fusion 360.  Attached is a comparison between a spur gear created with the Spur Gear add-in and a bevel gear created in Gearotic.  I projected the one of the bevel teeth upper and lower ends to sketches, then rotated and aligned the sketches with the spur gear.  The tooth forms are very close, but the upper bevel tooth profile is smaller.  You can find the formula for bevel gears in Ivan Law's book: "Gears and Gear Cutting".   There are also several different forms of bevel gears, so you'll probably need to specify which one you need.

p.s. The gears are Module 1 49 teeth.

p.s.p.s. After watching the last video in your post, I would say that is the technique to use in order to create correctly shaped bevel gears.

Thx for this idea. Looks pretty promising and I'll try it later.

I'm aware of the fact that there are variations of bevel gears but I hope to get away with the most simple one. What I try to build is just an experiment. My father has used a 5m² PVC foil (2mm thick) as a "wall" to make a roofed area more wind resistant during autumn / winter. He can roll up the foil what will happens a couple of times per year. I'm just curious if I can 3d print a little gearbox where he can attach a crank to. An alternative might be  a worm gear, but I'm worried the translation (transition (???) might be to bad.
