How to adjust the height of a text sketch to fit the text box?

Hi all,

Is it possible to create a text sketch and have the font height stretch to the dimensions of the text area you define?  There is this font that I really would like to use, but I want it to be the same height as the text box no matter what text I enter.

I've tried searching for an answer on the forums and Google but could not find exactly what I was looking for.  Perhaps I am not searching for the proper terminology.

Please advise if this is possible, and please let me know if I can provide any more information that might help.

Hi,

There is only the possibility to position the text in a (dimensioned) box horizontally and vertically.*
Then the box is positioned by dimensions and conditions. The variability then depends on how skillfully you go about it.

Thank you for the fast reply Günther!  Do you have a link you can share that can explain how to position the text in a dimensioned box?  You mention that it does not work properly for you at the moment, what's the issue?

As far as I know, you can not have the text size automatically adjust to the text box size. You can though use the measure drop down in the text dimension box to set the text size to the box height.

But after starting a new design everything was ok.

Hi,

Here's a little tip:
I prefer to center text both vertically and horizontally in a slightly larger text box (than the current text needs). Then I usually position the box (incl. text) with the midpoint constraint to other sketch elements.
