How do I make notes on my skectch?

I cannot find any documentation on how to make design notes to myself while in a design.  I understand that you can do this with the Annotate menu in the Drawing space, but how can I make in process notes to myself while in the sketch.  Let's say I'm not sure what a dimension should be, so I make a note that I need to check it.  I'm not looking to make text objects like with the text tool, just notes to myself that are not a part of the design.

Thanks, Timm!  That works for most of the use cases I can think of.  I do wish I could choose points on the sketch, rather than just on bodies or components, but the comments box should help a lot.

Is there any way to create text directly on a sketch? Being able to edit,move, turn off/on etc as well?

Assuming the answer is no, can this be given consideration?

You can create text in a sketch.  There is a text command in sketch.  You can't, however, individually control the visibility of a text item.  You can move it around, resize, and edit it:

Oh, I did see that but thought it was just for creating text to be used in a model, as opposed to what I wanted it for (just making notes).

I would like the ability to add notes to points and features in sketch and model environments, like I can add notes in Google Sheets. The note is shown on hover. Having to keep notes on a separate file with screenshots is how I do it at the moment but it is a huge waste of time.
