How do I make an exploded view with BOM from sub-assembly (component group)?

I am creating exploded view drawings for some assemblies.  For the drawings, I want exploded views of sub-assemblies (component groups) and a BOM for that sub-assembly.  When I create a drawing from an animation and add the BOM to the drawing, it includes every component in the assembly.  All I want in the BOM is components from the sub-assembly I am trying to document.

Right now, my exploded view drawing may only have 10 parts, but the BOM may list 30 or 40 parts from the entire model.  If you look at the attahced picture, Item 7 is the sub-assembly, but parts from the entire model are on the BOM.  I want the BOM that details the components in Item 7.

Is there a way to get components from other component groups out of the BOM?

Hi @Anonymous -

At this point the parts list interoperability with exploded views is still a little limited, and this is the major limitation. We will be continuing to develop this area, in the meantime the only work around I can think of would be to copy the subassembly into an additional design, and create the drawing from that point.

I'll keep you posted on any improvements.

Best,

Scott

Hello,

July 2018...Any updates on this? I found this

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/screencast/Main/Details/23d2e7c...

But I could do with it quantifying all the occurrences of components in one list? Thanks

Thanks
