How do I make a Spur Gear

Hi

I have a number of projects that need me to create a spur gear, that is a gear with the spurs on the inside that have a smaller gear that is fitted to a motor to be able to turn a torso on a 3d printed project.

I have seen posts where an addin is required but I do not know if that addin is still available or whether I can do this process in fusion with out an add in.

I am assuming its possible to create some sort of pattern for the spur and reproduce it around a circle. But I am speaking from limited knowledge of these things.

So if there is a way to create a spur gear in fusion, I would appreciate any directions.

Kind Regards

Ian

It could be done without add-in, but will take knowledge of plotting an Involute Curve.

I teach how to do this in my class.  Are you a student?

This add in looks like it'll do what you're after.

Hi

I downloaded the GF Gear maker and installed it into Fusion.

I can make basic gears but I am having trouble making an accurate Gear that fits the process I am working on.

Its going to fit on this B9 project. Its a basic area where a torso will rotate on a curved base using a lazy susan that will have a Spur gear with a motor attached to it:

The outer diameter of the internal spur gear needs to be 450mm and the internal diameter needs to be less than the inside of the lazy susan diameter which is 388mm diameter so the cogs are clearing the lazy susan.

When I select the internal spur gear option:

I choose the Internal Spur Gear. Which gives me this screen:

This is where I do not know how to get a internal gear that is 450mm outer diameter and less than 388mm diameter, 6mm thick, with say 50 teeth on it.

If you could help that would be great. I really don't understand how to get this right and my attempts make it really large.

I have attached the basic fusion file I am working with. Body 14 is the sample lazy susan size.

Regards
