I odnt seem to be able to get the hang of this, but I can never find this magic upload button.   How do I get to the data panel?

I don't really understand what you want ...

Are you saying that the upload button in the data panel isn't there?

And inserting a dxf can be done from the Insert menu, so why would you need to upload it?

That's a bit of a slight bit of bad wording.

  1. From the command ribbon in Model Workspace, select Insert DXF

It should be. From the insert menu on the command ribbon in the model work spaces select insert .dxf

or

From the command ribbon in the Model Workspace under insert select insert .dxf
