How do I find the center of a circular face?

I'm trying to position a sketch of a component on top of another component. There are no marks to reference when trying to start the sketch and if I try going back to edit the sketch of the other component, it deletes everything I've done after that component and there are still no marks. I could make a bunch of construction marks and eventually find the center again, but that's probably not the best way to do it.

It makes absolutely no sense that the program should work this way, so I must be going about this all wrong.

I'm trying to find the center of the big circle.

Use Sketch > Project > Project, or the (P) key.  Click on the outside of the body, your sketch will have the circle and centre point added to current sketch.

Might help...

If the purpose of the sketch is to locate its component on the other component, then use a joint.  The center of the circle will be one of the available joint origins.
