How do I add fillets to an imported .step file?

Hi All,

I want to add some fillets to a customer supplied .step file. Is there anyway I can do this?

I've searched previous posts and seen that you have to project to extrude etc. is this the case for adding fillets?

Unfortunately I cannot share the customer model.

Any help gratefully received.

Have you simply tried it ?

You might want to consider turning on the timeline in the imported design if the fillets need to be parametric.

it's really hard to answer without more information.  But, a few things to check:  the curvature of the edge you are trying to fillet (use Curvature Comb analysis).  Areas of tight curvature will cause Fillet problems.  Also, using the same analysis type, check for "near tangencies" in the edge.  That is: areas where two adjacent edge are almost, but not quite tangent continuous.  That can also cause Fillet to fail.

Silly me, I saved two files for different fillet combinations to then drop the model into and therefore I was unable to edit these components. I now know to upload the step and edit this one & save and then upload another one etc.
