How can I simulate a throwing motion?

Hello,

I modelled a small assembly that's supposed to throw a smartie (for reasons). I'd like to simulate the throwing part, but in the simulation environment I can't access the joints and in the model environment I can do a motion study, but I can't seem to enable gravity and make the bodies interact with each other.

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm very new to all things CAD so I really appreciate your help.

If you are a student you can get Autodesk Inventor from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity and use the Dynamic Simulation Environment to do this.

Hi @Anonymous

Maybe you should explain what you want to get from the simulation. With that knowledge, we can help guide you to the correct approach.

Otherwise, motion, gravity, and things flying sound like an event simulation. So the place to start is with the Simulation Hands-On Exercises. After that, look at the Event Simulation Samples included in the software. From the top level of the Data Panel, choose "Simulation Samples > 3 - Event Simulation Samples".
