How can I create this parametrically, possibly with mirroring?

I'm trying to create something similar to this lamp, which exemplifies my current need.

I'm not sure of a way to create something like this, while not having to manually change the size of each ring, or being able to change the number of rings parametrically.

Can someone point me in the right direction to learn how to do something like this?

Thanks for the help!  The revolve is a good idea.  However, it looks like you created all of the ring lines manually, so it wouldn't be possible to change the number of rings later.

You could also, draw the outside path, create a profile on the tip of the line, then use the Pattern on path.
