Hole callouts

Hello,

Looking for easy way to create a hole callout, just like in Solidworks and Inventor.

Is there a way to achieve this or is it something that Autodesk is or thinking of working on?

Hi @M_Bortkiewicz,

Currently that is not possible.  However, it is high on our list. I can't commit to an exact date, but here is a link to our Fusion 360 roadmap https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-product-roadmap/roadmap-check-in-may-2016/ba-p/6323238 .   I believe the item "Hole and Thread Notes" should provide you the functionality you want.  Please let me know if I have misunderstood your request.

Thank you,

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I believe "Hole and Thread Notes" are what I am looking for.

Great stuff, Fusion 360 is getting better and better.

Hi all,

I've just started on Fusion 360 and I that hole and thread callous feature that was in the May 2016 roadmap to be released 2nd half of this year has disappeared in the September one , any news on this?

Sep 2016 roadmap: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-product-roadmap/roadmap-check-in-september-2016/ba-p/65453...

Keep up the great work!

This is not  solved.
Why does AD mark threads as solved just because they have an answer. That is not solved it is just telling the OP they are SOL. That is not a solution.

I guess it's solved only for forum specific purpose, but they do know that it's something that's need to have in Drawings. Though I do wonder can we have Hole Callouts first before Hole Wizard (in Model environment) or we have to wait for Hole Wizard first and only then Hole Callouts

Solved in the forums is in the opinion of the original poster. As in it "solved" their question or works for them it is not necessarily a change in the product, redesign or a new release ECT.

Thanks

Perhaps I am just spoiled by other forums but when you are searching for a solution to your problem and you find a thread marked solved it means there will be actual solutions in the thread.

I have to agree that "solved" is a bit confusing in this case. I used "solved" to mark that my question was answered.

@kris_berg

So two years later....how do we create a hole callout on drawings?

It's been three years.  Any progress?  Having to update holes manually on the drawing when they are changed in the design is silly.

"However, it is high on our list" -- 2016 I'd sure hate to see what low on their priority list looked like...

Hi Kris!

It's been over 3.5 years since you claimed this was "high on [your] list," and marked this issue as solved.  That's over $1000 of my subscription dollars, and yet Fusion still lacks one of the most basic features of any CAD package.  Any chance you can personally address this major failure by posting an explanation on this thread, since it's the first one that comes up when searching "fusion 360 hole callouts?"  Since 2015, this feature has been very politely asked for by teachers, professionals, and hobbyists, ad nauseum, on Autodesk's message boards as well as tons of other forums.  It's time AD did something other than ignore us--and since you were the official rep who claimed our concerns were being expediently addressed, I feel like you have a responsibility to continue to address them until this issue is really solved.

As others have said this is such a fundamental feature of a CAD package and it's been 4 years since you stated it's a high priority. It makes me think twice before using Fusion 360 for a design that is going to need to be manufactured from a drawing. I've wanted to fully transition to Fusion 360 because it's so tightly integrated with Eagle but, unfortunately I still need to use Solidworks because without this features a 3D part is basically useless. The current process is so prone to errors when prototyping and changing the 3D design frequently. It forces me to check the 3D model manually to measure my holes - ridiculous!

Hi All,

Sorry I missed this thread.  I wanted to give you all an update.  First, in full transparency we did reduce the drawings team for several years to focus on other areas of the product.  We realize this was a mistake and have rectified the situation. We now have multiple teams assigned to drawings.  We are committed to delivering significant new content throughout the year.  If you haven't reviewed it, please see the May and June what's new to see all we have added in the last 2 releases.  We are currently working on hole and thread notes/callouts as well as other large features, but I don't yet have a committed date for delivery of Hole callouts.

Thanks

Deep into Covid-times, my students were issued very cheap laptops instead of using the high-end desktops in my classroom. It's a blessing that Fusion runs so well on these devices.  But my sudden, and forced transition from Inventor to Fusion has caused me much headache.  It's going in the wrong direction in many aspects.

Still appreciative that the full-strength version is completely free for students and educators, but the very first exposure for my students is your not-quite-fully-baked Fusion 360 product.

And just think this is like 5 years after Autodesk promised us all an amazing, competitive and production ready drawings module.

You are correct, there is no Hole Table available in Fusion 360 drawings.  You have failed to keep up with the latest additions to Fusion 360 drawings however.  Hole notes are now available including C'Bore holes.
