Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your post.  I'm curious about your interest in this topic.  What sort of information do you want to hear about Fusion?  Just interested in why you ask.  We've never really had a question like yours before.

Thanks,

Hi Jeff

I am doing a presentation for our company on fusion 360. We are considering switching completely to this CAD system, for now i am trying it out for one year atleast and i just thought that it would be nice with some history of the CAD system for the presentation. The thing is I see a big community for this but there are still some features i miss. If the program is new i hope that some of the features i miss will be included in some upcoming updates. If the program is old i think these features might never come. I miss wrapping a sketch to a non planar surface and some sheet metal features. also when aligning things one align seem to overwrite the previus which can be annoying. Also calculation of COM and inertia.

For the price i think you made a very good program i can see this getting real big if some of my suggestions are to be included.

It would be nice to know why you switched to autodesk fusion from inventor fusion? When was autodesk fusion first launched?

Hope this clarifies it and thanks for you reply.

Best regards

Morten,

Inventor Fusion 360 started off as a direct modeler to go after a space that Autodesk did not have a good solution for.  After a number of years, it became clear that the way Fusion used the cloud needed to be expanded.  Inventor Fusion became Fusion 360 when the strategy of the program changed and with the introduction of parametric modeling.   We are going on the third year of Fusion 360 and our product is evolving at an exciting pace.  Sheet metal is currently being developed and wrapping a sketch to a surface is in our backlog.  The fact that we have added in the past year simulation, CAM and drawings supports that Autodesk is commited to Fusion 360 as the future of making things.

Cheers,

Mike Prom
